I've seen a few of these now: I have a few customers who play them and send them in for reed replacement. I've just had a job which include 3 sets of crossover plates in different keys. Of course I always play them to check the repair and tuning. But this time I played one longer than usual. I put the plates on one of my own combs with my own covers and put it in my pocket for a day, and played routinely as I normally do with my own harps. I forgot about the fact it was a NG harp. It was just the harp in my pocket. At some point in the day it occurred to me how much I was enjoying this harp and the realisation of what I was playing. Neal doesn't get a lot of airtime here, I guess because of his location down under. But he is a hohner-affiliated customiser and does great work. I don't really want to send this one back...working on copying the signature with the engraver now (jk)

Neil has a way with reeds that's quite different from other customizers; I like his work! =========== Winslow

They do play sweetly. Jim Conway has a set. I think Jim persuaded him to get into the customizing game. My busking partner (guitarist who also plays harp) also has a set. I balk at the cost however. Maybe I need to get me one... then another... then...
