Komson Blues, as he calls himself, has a great idiomatic sound on acoustic harp and an amazing ear, amazing sense of time. This video should become a classic. I've exchanged several emails with Komson. He's a badass. He's uploaded a series of videos in which he takes on one classic cut after another and nails all of them.

I'm not a classicist, as y'all know. I want the new stuff. But if you're going to learn and prove that you know the old stuff, I don't know many players who can do THIS this well. He's one of the very best.

he's awesome.

I think he doesn't quite nail my favorite Roller Coaster lick which is the double time feel Walter plays at 1:25. Very difficult stuff..

but I'm just finding something to nitpick about

Okay, he's got the chops, and then some. But can he cuss and drink and fight and womanise like a real bluesman?

@ didjcripey, I bet he started with the cussing, drinking, fighting and womanising, before he took up killin' on harp.
Just look at that mug!

I guess my rating system is a bit different, because I don't find Komson as "nailing" Roller Coaster, but do find it a respectable attempt at playing it.

Accurate (mostly) but a bit polite, and sometimes he loses touch with the pulse of the backing track. I want to hear him put the boot in, which Walter could do without ever losing finesse.

Pointless exercise- he is obviously a very good player- find some music of his own to play- Never understand the copy thing

Its like paint by numbers " A Starry Night " or copy Ulysses page by page
