i have never had much exposure to gary smiths playing. this is a great album.
it would be great if someone like cadillac zack could book him to play here is so cal.
of coarse i would not here about it until afterwards. as i usually find out about things much too late.

Gary Smith taught David Barrett. Gary Smith taught Mark Ford. Gary is a blues harp godfather to be sure. GREAT stuff. Nice guy too.

Love his tone and his voice. I may have mentioned it before, but he, Aki Kumar and Dave Barrett have a terrific new album out called "It Takes Three."

Listen to this album quite often. Some really good stuff on there and Gary's tone and chops are stellar.

Absolutely one of my favorite CDs. There's not a bad cut on the CD but Cut You Loose and Elevate Me Momma are my favorites.

Hey 1847 - great to see you mention Cadillac Zack. He puts on some cool shows. I'm in Laguna beach, not a bad drive on a Sunday afternoon to get to Long Beach. Where are you located?

i am further north at the la. harbor... i have not been to a cadillac zack show in years.
seems my email was purged from his records, or perhaps he only does facebook? i always forget
he has blues shows weekly. its easier to go to a local blues jam on sundays, there are several around.

i would make an exception to see gary smith. he is in the top one percent for sure. i almost want to buy a green bullet after hearing him. well "almost"
