Sunday, July 17, 2016@ 8:00pm I am told that there will be a great blues harmonica showcase at a popular local music venue, The Iron Post (named after part of the old building). Playing will be Kilborn Alley featuring Ronnie Shellist, as part of his summer tour, and Rockin' Johnny with Aki Kumar as part of their Midwest tour.

I heard about it from Ronnie and Andrew Duncanson when they played at The Clark Bar as a duo on 7/6. Ronnie was great in the pared down duo format with Andrew Duncanson, who is the lead singer and one of the guitar players in Kilborn Alley.

Kilborn and Ronnie toured some out east. They are back now, and playing Friday at Memphis on Main in Champaign, Saturday at a downtown Champaign Street Fest, and then Sunday with the two bands mentioned above. I think the Sunday show at the Post is their last show together around here in Illinois for this tour.

If you love harp and/or blues, and are in the area, I recommend catching at least one of these shows with Ronnie. The one Sunday with Ronnie with Kilborn and Aki with Rockin' Johnny should be fantastic.

I wish these shows had better publicity, but then maybe they would be too crowded for me to attend.
