I always liked that bluesy taste in some famous bebop themes. After seeing (once again) Junior Watson's masterclass where he recommended to learn "this little bebop themes" I decided to make a short instrumental piece. My main idea was to incorporate as much bebop themes as I can :) (they must be ok with jump blues context). So here it is - "Bebopin the blues". For those who familiar with these songs - please post their names ;) for harmonica nerds:low eb diatonic harmonica in 2nd position :)
Blue Monk -- Thelonius Monk Now's the Time -- Charlie Parker Tenor Madness -- Sonny Rollins Ornithology -- Charlie Parker Blow Mr. Dexter -- Dexter Gordon (not sure on this bit) Straight No Chaser -- Thelonius Monk
Cool stuff, Konstantinos. Not easy sounding that fluid on a low harp like that.

Wheel: That sounds really nice, and did I hear a quote in there from a Gary Primich instrumental starting at the 1:11 mark, or did Gary borrow that line from someone else?

harpoon_man , I listen to this song now. Yes! You are right. I think he was influenced by Now's the Time and Tenor Madness in the head of the song. Yeah Gary blowin' variations on "Ornithology" by Charlie Parker at 1:24! Gary was a true master. one of my favourites! thank you for attention to this album. Next song "Knock Me A kiss" is very jazzy and old jazzy-pop evergreen :) ---------- Konstantin Kolesnichenko(Ukraine) CDBaby Amazon ITunes Google Music my music on youtube
