I notice you guys are using the original version of the song, where they changes from C to Ab. - The Mamas and Papas pop hit of the 1960s, featuring Mama Cass Elliot went to A major instead of Ab, making that part of the tune much brighter (in fact Tommy Smothers made fun of how startling the change was when he and Mama Cass did a television performance of the song). Ab is much easier on chromatic, as it's a lot like playing in G but with the slide mostly held in.

I'll bite.. why the glove? Does it keep noise down on the button or something?

Thanks guys!

The glove is a weird thing, I'll admit it! Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don't...There are some timbral things it allows and it also helps with some aspects of the somewhat unusual grip I tend to prefer on my slider hand...

There are probably some more clever solutions, but the glove is easy!
