As there are a number of folks on this forum who don't participate on Facebook, I thought I would share a notice that Joe Spiers posted yesterday:

If you're a harmonica player, please like and share to help me get the word out.
Instead of taking orders and deposits, I’m shifting to a business model of repairing and modifying harmonicas provided by customers. Over the past year I’ve developed an extremely efficient and powerful process that saves me time, and saves you money.
The new PRO STOCK service is the result of over a decade of honing my harp-specific skills, and focusing on understanding how harmonicas really work.
I can build a BETTER harp FASTER, saving us both time and you money. I’m excited to offer this service in particular, because it works so well. It also makes my best reed work financially accessible to a far wider range of players, especially when combined with a repair.
As time allows, I’ll also build and sell custom harmonicas that are ready to go. I’ll add a page to provide that information when I get to that point. Right now I’ll be concentrating on service jobs and knocking out existing orders to fulfill my wait list.
Please send your info and interests through the contact form if you’d like to have advance notice when new READY TO GO harps available. If there’s a match on model and key, I’ll let you know before posting them for sale.

I've been following this change in Joe's business model with great interest. I can't, however, figure out whether he will still produce a full-overbend "Stage III" harmonica, either as a repair service or as a READY-TO-GO custom.

Stage III is no longer available, they're burning me out. I'm excited about what I'm offering now. No Juke parts here 1847, I wonder if a set of MB plates would fit?

Sounds great Joe. I guess if you have a custom comb already and new stock Hohner plates it should be much easier to make a really good harp.

No it doesn't necessarily make it any easier. Flattening a crossover or deluxe comb takes 10 seconds, and I've never had a problem using stock sp20 combs. I usually prefer the tone of both with my reed work, over a comb with higher mass which adds brightness. GMs usually sound better to me with custom combs. But the quality of the reed work is what makes or breaks a custom harp, not combs.

$95 to turn my existing (probably altered tuned) harmonica into a Stage One strikes me as a bargain.
Let me pay off some credit cards, and I will get back to you.
Joe's pretty good with a reed . . .

The pro-stock reed work is usually as good as or better than older stage 1 reed work. Older meaning anything before 2016.
