I saw this video on You Tube today and since there are so many Jason Ricci fans on this forum, I want to share this with all of you.

Canadian Shawn Kellerman is an amazing guitarist! I caught a show of his with Jerome Godboo here in Ottawa earlier this year and I was blown away!

This video is one of those sets you'll never forget! Enjoy!

Haters gonna hate, as they say, but I reckon this is one of the all time great harp players in action right here. Rest of the band hot and slick too.

The guitar harp battle at about 8 mins should put to rest any notion that the harp is a novelty instrument that is not taken seriously.

Man, Owen thanks for postin' this…Sometimes in the wake of life on life's terms I forget how blessed I am to have had such a life….I've had the absolute pleasure of working, learning from and recording with some monster guitar players over the years guys like Nick Moss, Nick Curran, Walter Trout, Johnny Winter, Sammy Hotchkiss, Shawn Starski, Junior Kimbrough, RL Burnside, David Kimbrough Jr., Eric Deaton, Josh Smith, John Lisi, Ana Popovic, and a ton of others I'm forgetting off the top but let me tell you one of the very, very best and one of my very, very favorites is this guy here Shawn Kellerman! What an amazing player. This guys got it all: Tone, chops, sex appeal and taste…He's studied with some of the best in the world and he's one of the best now even though not enough people know... I first met Shawn in 1995 when I was living in Jackson Mississippi, he was playing with Bobby Rush at the time but when he was off the road with Bobby sometimes I'd get lucky and get him on gigs….The first time I hired him we were doing that Mellow Down Easy (Walter's version) and he hit that Luther Tucker or Louis Myers Guitar lick right off the record and I've loved him ever since….If you ever get the chance please check out one of the greatest living blues guitar players alive today Shawn "Kill a Man" Kellerman. -Jason Ricci (video from Michael Michael A Moss's club "Callaghans Music Hall" in Detroit Circa 2008?) Here's the studio version of "Burrito Brain" with Lucky Peterson on Keys!!!! Slow down the first lick (or any of them) and try and find a "pattern" here!!! There ain't none...

@Moon Cat - you're truly a gentleman with your props for your fellow musicians and especially, Shawn! He is one of the best guitarists I have ever heard and at my age, I've heard a few. By the way, you two inspired one another on this gig...it is sooo evident! Thanks for the music!
