But I doubt if you are forgetting how--you are doing the right thing.
I know, practice in your head!
Boy, that's a terrible idea . . .
OK, listen to your favorite records, that's a better one . . .
Or watch your old videos!

Hope the surgery is successful Ted. There have been times in my last 40+ where I just physically could not play, once for a few weeks. It sucks but is livable.

For me though a sort of collateral benefit has been that my mind does some rearranging in those times and when I get back to playing it seems I have some aHA moments, things are somehow new.

I say enjoy the break as much as you can and heal up well, then come on back!

Good thoughts your way Ted.

But once your rehabing is done you'll be able to play your harmonica on long unpainful walks! :)

jbone, I was just having an A-Ha moment myself. I was literally listening to (and playing along with) the old 80's tune 'Take on Me' as I read your post. (Which of course, was by the band, 'Ah-ha')

Feel better Ted.

Just got back to playing due to dental surgery. I spent the time studying orchestration from the program the "Secret Composer".

Don't be afraid to sit at gigs. You play really well, and it is the music that counts. No point in messing up the knee by standing all night.

Best of luck in your recovery!
