Following the Messin With the Kid riff... another one that comes up is Cissy Strut. I play it on bass and transcribed what I play on bass to the harp. The head sounds right on harp and bass, but the chorus part just doesn't sound right on harp. Here is my version, what say you all?
Hahahah, seen that video before. I don't know if he's right or not, I can't hear what he's hearing. But I won't argue with him - the Kid is a BIG guy! I saw him and Rick Estrin at the Rythm Room in Phoenix last night. Great show!
Thanks for the correction. I knew it was that last line that had a problem.
This particular song is a great example. If one listens to the original, one may find that the great simplicity involved and the "suggestion of other notes without actually playing them" is something to be studied.
So many bands that play this song inject too many notes into it. ---------- The Iceman
Hey Georgia Jimmi McB - That's the guy that plays guitar with Rick Estrin, Isn't it??? He did a solo last year at The Bean, "The Legend of Pablo ....." - the most amazing assortment of styles, dynamics and showmanship I have ever seen !! ----------
If it ain't got harp - it ain't really blues!!!!

@Iceman Yes, I hear some things in there that if I add them to the riff its clearly wrong. But I'm hearing something. maybe fast passing notes? Maybe something from another instrument? Not sure.
@jawbone Yes, that's him. The Kid can play. He played that same thing friday night and it was even better to see him do it up close. Amazing.
