... Has arrived in Sweden! I never budget for it so it's always a welcome midsummer gift.

What would you guys get if a (moderate) pile of money appeared at your door step? I have 10 vintage microphones so I guess I need a few more :D

i'd maybe place an order with Mr Spiers, or consider some more lessons...or improve my chromatic with a new comb from Mr Power...or take a trip somewhere warm and light...midwinter here right now...

Booze. The cost of liquor being what it is in Sweden I´d probably take a trip to Denmark and stock up for the summer. (Which, even by Swedish standards, is pretty dreadful this year.)

An 11th microphone ...? Nah. In the harmonica department I´d 1) buy a bunch of harps, or, 2) order one of those Lone Wolf pedals that people rave about. (But I rather suspect that you´re an All Set Mate even when it comes to pedals?)

I've got my eye on quite a few harmonica instruction books including the Hal Leonard Little Walter Play Along and Blues Harmonica Collection books. I'd also like to try out a Hohner Crossover after hearing good things about it.

Now I just have to get a good tax return and convince my wife they're essential purchases.....

Hah! Sound advice, Martin! I bet that would be your answer regardless of the size of the pile of money. (Here one could insert an emoji but I'll take a wild guess that you utterly despise those).

I have placed an order for a c custom. Maybe I should stop beating aroun the bush and get me a bassman.

Pistolcat: You´re on to something there. I fear I´m getting predictable in my crepuscular years. Well well. (And you´re on the dot even in that emoji department.)

Where do you buy your customs? From a Swede?

"A Bassman"? No no, I´ve seen that now there´s a Bassman pedal! From Boss, no less. Get that one and you´ll still have money left for ...

I had to pay income tax this year for the first time. What a pain. In Canada you have to register electronically and have them mail a special form, code and envelope to you. Takes a week or more, all the time they are compounding interest if you are paying late (because your account messed up).
You can then e-pay but the Canadian government web sites were just attacked by Anonymous...so it's the cheque is in the mail routine.

If I did have a big return I'd get Andrew to hot rod some harps for me. Oh wait...I'm gonna do that end of the month at the Dunnville Ontario harp retreat! Bonus!

@Pistolcat: OK thanks. Yep, they certainly look nice. But of course, as I may have mentioned 648 times before, I´d take a downright ugly harmonica any day, and I´d be willing to pay good money for it -- if it lasted.
With a somewhat sinking feeling I´ve retired three harps this week: all beyond hope of salvation.

On the upside -- a local music store has expressed an interest in carrying Seydel, and then hopefully also replacement reeds.

Even more on the upside. I bought an excellent harmonica for 29,90 SEK a few months ago! ($ 3,5.)

If one day, a big bag o money..came down from Heaven.. safely, and I could keep it. And didn't have to pay Uncle Sam...
I would do something charitable 1st. Maybe give percentage to the veterans association, or St Jude's Children's Hospital.
THEN...
I would move out of my apt, find a cool pad, with a view, on the beach, with cool neighbors, or none at all..where I could blast my amps with reckless abandon. And throw fun parties whenever I feel like it.
Then, I would hire horn players, yup! that's the ticket...and a keyboard player, and arrange a very cool and educational blues show,...once a month, in the park for free. With naked ladies dancing all around...
Well, we got the naked ladies dancing part, already.
