I see a lot of discussion on this subject here. I found this old funky live recording of my trio doing a swinging tune with the harp as a sax in my mind and the guitar too at times. I am on guitar and harp (rack) walter

Hi Sarge: How are things? Good I hope. The good news is Katherine Stevens, the drummer on that gig and has been my main drummer for the past 20 years, lives 1/2 the year in Reno, NV and that is where we are moving to later this summer. We are opening a pizzeria to continue my work training people with developmental disabilities and will most like do a gig every month or so in the shop. Walter

Doing fine Walter. Good luck on your move. I think Katherine is the drummer on Cadillac Boogie, if I remember correctly.

Sarge: Glad to hear all is well. That was Katherine on that song. She swings better than any drummer I have played with and I have had some greats in my band over the years. The kicker is she never practices and hasn't done a gig since our last which was a few years ago and the one prior to that was a couple years before we did together. Here a couple of video of that gig. They are the only ones of us playing together. We did a bunch of swinging tunes but only these got video recorded. Lewis Cowdrey is on the left side of the screen and Sean Carney or Johnny Roy on the third guitar are on the right. Lewis started the Austin blues scene with the Vaughns and was the vocalist/harp player for Storm. Johnny Roy has backed up countless blues and early rock/rollers, and Sean Carney won the IBC band competition a ways back. These people and other players came in to play my annual backyard party at our house. We have a 1/3rd of an acre and many camp out back. The second video is a take off on my days with Sonny Rhodes and one of his signature tunes since I met you baby. Walter

here is lewis on harp/vocals with Storm
