Took my students to an open mic to get the feel for what it's all about. This guy asked me to do Summertime with him. I'm very familiar with the song but never tried to learn it on harp. I knew I wanted to do third position so I was a little nervous when he said he played it in "G". This put me on a high "F" in third. New for me. My first thought was moderate simple backing. Lot's of splits and don't do anything that will make the harp sound shrill. Okay I guess. 10 draw at end of solo didn't seem to hurt anybody...lol

Your harmonica didn't sound too shrill. Way to step out on a limb in real time in front of real people. ---------- The Iceman

I play summertime in second position on a natural minor harp....prefer the sound of that as opposed to playing in a minor key in 3rd position
