Hi
I was wondering if anyone knew who the harp player was in Tommy Tuckers recording of I'm shorty. Sounds a bit like Horton

Nice simple but effective 1st position playing. Sometimes sounds like the harp player is using a cup at the start at least.

Teeny Tucker,Tommy's daughter lives and sings blues in Columbus, Ohio. She is amazing! I know her harmonica player, Dave Gastell. If you don't get any answers here, I'll give Dave a shout. Worth the while to check out the Teeny Tucker Band! Bobby Hughes her guitar player is awesome!

Tried twice to post a link to the walter horton discoraphy on richard sleigh's site but it's been deleted on both occasions.

Anyway, the track (which is great!) is listed on it.

Go to custom harmonicas dot com to see the full discography.

That is early 1960's Big Walter or Mark Hummel. Compare this to Big Walter's Soul of Blues Harmonica.

Love that track. Mark Hummel did a great job covering it! With Charlie and Anson...smokin'!

Also always check Wirz for blues discographies;

"KC69 Shakeylee: Let us know if you make it back. Several from the forum are in the Columbus area."

that's great to hear.i really liked it there.
i did two sets at a bar named rafters .the first set was me and a tabla player,and the second was with a sitar player and classical indian singer,in addition to the tabla.the sitar player is named hans utter,and he lives in columbus.

don't hate me,but i really like cleveland too.(steelhead fishing right in town)

i might be doing a tour through OH,detroit and madison/millwaulkie.

i found the level of players in columbus to be amazing. just fantastic.
