Most true bypass pedals produce a audible click or snap when they are engaged or disengaged. Using a Squeal Killer anti feedback box makes that audible click a VERY loud pop. It really doesn't make a difference when I'm playing since the music is very loud anyway if I'm using the SK on the gig. But the pop is remarkably loud if you are just testing the pedal during set up. This probably says something about the SK circuit, but I don't know what.

It's been a problem since true bypass pedals where invented, and dozens of articles have been written
about it.

Many makers of quality pedals address the
problem when they build them now, but alot of them don't.
I don't have that problem with my Wampler's or Fulltone's.

It's a problem that can be fixed assuming all of the components in the pedal are not faulty, and the pedal is causing the problem (most likely). It's a matter of installing a resistor from the outboard side of the capacitors to ground. Input and output capacitors.

I've read anything from a 100K to 1MEG resistor, and
the pedal makers that install pull down resistors
commonly use 1 MEG.

Here's an article I found that explains it.

Yeah, the switch noise from true bypass pedals is a well documented phenomenon. But I was wondering why he Squeal Killer itemslfies it?

Hvyi, most likely because it doesn't have pull down resistors.

What are pull down resistors?
