Did somebody try this ?
Can you fit SP20 covers on a Manji ?
Do you have to drill the covers ?

I have not tried but at first glance it would require new holes at the front of the SP20 covers.

Either way works. The SP20 cover holes lines up with the middle hole in the Manji reed plate and comb. It's plenty airtight and looks just fine. I offer Semi-customs made from Mani plates, Dark comb and Special 20 covers. Great looking harp!

Well, that's kinda/sorta what a Suzuki Olive is, except the Olive covers are full length as well as being unvented. And the screw hole patterns will fit.

I SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED that bushman DF covers/suzuki harpmaster covers of course fit.but ,oddly enough soul's voice covers don't fit well.

I have used SP20 and Manji CP on the Olive, as its covers are not ferromagnetic, but the other two are.
Haven't been using the magnetic harp rack tho--
I like the ProMaster CP, but none in place on my working harps--go figure.
I also like TurboLids, but mainly for organization and efficiency--man, do I detest grabbing a harp and playing it upside down!

SP20 covers are designed to seat to a flat reed plate surface. Sometimes they don't even do that well. The length of the front lip will usually leak when installed on plates with grooves, if that area isn't attended to.

You can try to flat sand if need be, which sucks, but I've had better seating with SP20 covers on a Manji than on a Marine Band. Ymmv

1847 covers are the worst for seating, though.
