Great video and track on all counts. I listened on good headphones and it's a top notch production--amazing sound and video mixing/editing. Great groove, great balance.

And the harp is.....immediately identifiable AND perfectly complementary to the session leader. That's the mark of a great player. We know you were there, but you didn't make it seem like you needed us to know that. That's hard to do. Just show up, do the job, make your mark, collect your pay (I hope!), and head home. That's what we do, if we're good, and lucky. :)

You guys are SWEET! Awe (blushing for real) …I still hear room for more laying back…like I don't think I needed to articulate the 5 chord during the chugging or at least could of picked the 6 blow (i did once I think) to tag after the 5 instead of the 5 blow (2-5 split)…IDK…Maybe it's fine I was going for a Taj type thing..Hind sight and all that...but I like this stuff too, it's fun and different and easier and harder... and it means a lot that all of you are digging it so much…Jndigo: Thank you for saying that about JJ's voice I feel the SAME way!!! Three more of these vids coming out every couple of months or so one at a time JJ and I are finishing recording a whole record this weekend hopefully it all come out by summer 2015. You guys are awesome.

JJ Appleton is a killer combination of singer and guitarist, on the money with the groove and then some. The high register of his singing is appealing and blends well with the sweeping swell of his slide work. Your harmonica work here is an equal joy, Jason, and it's great to see you playing on the country side of the blues; do I detect a little Charlie McCoy on the more fleet runs? This is a fine trio you have here and hope there is an album's worth of work forthcoming.

Very nice stuff. I was impressed with the overall sound, the singing and guitar playing... and of course the harp playing :-). I really liked the last one you posted a few weeks back. A really good singer!

I should mention the bass player but it's often hard to hear bass through my crappy speakers... will listen again later on better equipment.

Sounding great J. Love the Cajun influenced licks in the harp parts a lot. Really love the way your playing is getting more percussive all the time. For me, it's some of your best playing yet.

I loved it!

Jason, your playing served the song wonderfully! You used your musicality and advanced technical proficiency in an understated way, supporting the other musicians performances unobtrusively, but solidly.

Great stuff!

I agree, killer harp solo - so good it almost makes the slide guitar sound mundane. Love the cajun-sounding, accordion-style licks, too.

Great stuff! I watched this video early this morning going to work and thought: "This video is the answer to the 'good at both country and Chicago' thread."

If JR ever played any electric, that is :D

Good stuff man. Been waiting years to hear you do some
more acoustic stuff. Well worth the wait. This fits right into the groove and keeps it moving along.

Wow, Jason is carrying that tune all the way from start to finish. Percussion, rhythm and lead. Whoever hired him is getting their moneys worth and then some. Talk about pro grade. Top groove, magic melodic solo and totally without taking over but lifting the frontman

The playing in this is great -- love the vocals and the harp especially. But I just wanted to draw attention to the fact that this is some of the best production on a contemporary blues recording that I've heard in years. All of the instruments (and the vocals, of course) feel very out-front, but at the same time, none of them are stepping on each other. That isn't easy to do.
