At this point in time, I can't search the forum,

For some reason when I try to use the 'search' feature on MBH , sub-listed in the forum selection .. L hand side of the webpage ..

There is no place/space to enter the search criteria ...

I put my curser over Blues Harp Forum , the 3 sub-selections including 'search' appear .. I click search , the normal search page loads but no space to enter the search criteria ...
I see the artwork & the bold font .. 'Search The Blues Forum'... on top of the art ..
my curser looks like it 'sees' a place as it changes to a vertical line ready to input text ,and, only on top of the bold 'Search The Blues Forum' font ...
apx. where the search space was previously ....

I have in the past used this function/resource many times ..
Is it my computer or perhaps where I'm located on the globe ? a setting .. bad mojo , a ghost, or maybe the devil ?

Thanks in advance for your feedback ..

There is a faint screen wide search box under the "Search The Blues Forum" and above the artwork to the left of the search button with a faint "Google Custom Search" in it. That is the text box. Click on it to activate a cursor.

bm, thanks for the fast clear reply .. but .. those 'features' are not appearing on my monitor ..

The 'search the blues harp forum' text and the artwork are very close together .. not much room between them ..

I'm not seeing a 'search button' or the 'space' ... to actually 'enter' criteria and 'activate' a search ..

i've run my curser all over the page .. using a a grid layout trying to locate the enter point .. no love ...

I'm using a Macbook Pro , OS X 10.5.8 ... could this be the issue ? Flashplayer and Skype have been updated recently .. well a while ago & they don't work with this older OS X ..

Ouch! It's an embedded java script search thingy. Did java update as well? Sometimes you need to update or roll back to a stable version.

Latest Oracle Java needs 10.7.3 or later.
If you pull up the search page you can find a 'view source' option in the browser options.
Scroll down to near the bottom and there will be an html section for the search that is a java script template that runs the Google search.
Hardcore Mac users may have a better idea about what is going on.

Thanks for the replies bm & Kingly ..

Found the issue .. it is the tracking blocker 'Ghostery' I have installed .. recommended by a member of this forum as a matter of fact .. a very good tool .. however .. have reset the options to accept google trackers from this page ..

Able to search the site now : )
