Here's something a little different.
My friend Danny G just sent me this link.
It's me playing and singing (kinda) House of the Rising Sun being backed by AJ WIndmeyer on chord harmonica. I'm kinda embarrassed to say I barely remember doing this. There were not many blues guys at this free event, but it's a great experience and fun time. I liked looking at this and realized, I was really relaxed and not even working when I did this. There's a few flubs, but I say it's a fair example of how I play.

Very nice Jim. Also a pretty good lesson there on how to keep cool and carry on when things go slightly awry. ----------

nteresting number this one. My band 'The Moonshine Run' play this with me on harp, and they were surprised when I pointed out the 30 bar solo which I was unable to finish because of them shortening it to 24 bars. When they took a listen to The Animals version, they realised what they had been doing for years. Anyway, it's me who has had to adapt to their way.

ya got me confused. I just counted it in my head, and I get 16 bars, not 24 or 30. What I hear in my posted recording is what I call 16. Maybe I need to go listen to The Animals so I will know what you're talking about. ---------- theharmonicaclub.com (of Huntington, WV)

Yeah Jim. I'm counting the lead in by the keyboards as well, which is 6 bars.

I just listened and I'm AMAZED. In my "cock sure" ways of 40 years of playing I would have declared everyone knows it's a 16 bar progression. That's how we play it at all the local jams, but I just counted it (more than once) and I'm getting 22, not 24, not 30, but 22.
I am fascinated by this. I gotta go listen again and study this more.
6 bars added to 16 is 22 bars.
I fell sooooooo stupid yet sooooo amazed.
