I can't believe I didn't find out until now. If anything was posted about it here I missed it - sorry if I'm repeating.
Dave Scudamore - fellow vendor and the guy behind harpmicgaskets.com - has passed.
From his web site:
"Dave was involved in a car accident and passed away of natural causes on Oct 11, 2014. All orders from the beginning of the month until now have been refunded. The store is shutdown for the time being. We thank you for your business and support."
I spoke to his wife today. They were returning from vacation and were on the way home from the airport in Chicago. Dave slumped over at the wheel. His wife reached over and steered the van into a brick wall to get it out of harm's way - she has a broken knee and a broken hand to show for it - but her quick thinking saved her own life.
My heart goes out to Dave's family and friends.

Sadly, I only knew him online via a couple ebay transactions over the years. Clearly you knew him better Greg.
In any case, he answered my questions and seemed like a nice guy and an entrepreneur who served the harmonica community for quite some time. For that, my respect.
I wish his family peace.

I did business with Dave a few times. He was a great guy and his passing is a sad loss to the harmonica community. My condolences to his family.

Yeah. That's rough. I've been to quite a few funerals in the past couple of weeks. I didn't know Dave, but my thoughts and prayers are with the family.

That's a terrible loss for the community. Dave helped me out a lot with starting up my microphone business, and we've done many, many trades, purchases and digs at one another along the way. His attention to detail was intense, as were his opinions. I last heard from him as he was returning from vacation. I'm busted down.
