THE "LOOK"

my partner and I were recently contacted by a movie company for incidental music and bit parts ( playing musicians duh)

First thing they said was we like your music- but we really like your " visual style".

As with any type project of this sort - its usually hurry up and wait - but I never really considered that we have a " look"

Maybe we should have shown some skin. here is the video we had submitted. I am the good looking drummer ( hah)

I bet they want a more '20's vibe - black tie, trousers and suspenders. Flat-top straw hat might be overdoing it. More like your partner at 1:22 min.

Or you could ask them to be more specific.

Cool music, BTW.

Edit: *Sigh* I must remember not to read MBH without my glasses.

They like the combination of older guys playing older music. You're not kids. No spring chickens here! And that makes the music more convincing. You're not Gen X wannabe hipsters named, oh, I don't know. LaFarge. :)

So although the video obviously massages the truth of contemporary Miami with an effects package, the older-guys-playing-older-music thing shines through.

Goldbrick: Overall you have the package that looks and sounds like the "real deal." Very important, IMHO.
Break a leg!

A jazz singer friend, Lady Cool, got me to play the part of a harmonica player in a video for her version of Don't Tell My Heart aka Achy Breaky Heart. The actual harp was played by Robert Susz, a much better player than I'll ever be.
