I was doing some research in Clarksdale this morning and ran into Deak, who was busking on the street. He told me that he's putting together a big blues harmonica festival that will take place on November 8th on the big outdoor stage next to the Delta Blues Museum. The list of talent he reeled off was quite exceptional--and, to be honest, equaled or exceeded Hill Country Harmonica on our best year.
I remember only one name: Mitch Kashmar. Mitch will be there. But he's got a lot of other guys (and a woman or two). Those of you within a day's drive (call it 500 miles) will want to consider making a long weekend of this. A few of you, I suspect, will want to fly in.
I've urged Deak to come here and spread the word. In the meantime, you WILL want to save the date.
