Yes, I was listening to some live Butterfield today. Yes, I know I sound nothing like him. But does make you want to get your own licks in, in a manner of speaking. ;)

Cool Ted. This is my Butterfield Born in Chicago style groove tune.

I've yet to record myself doing this one....but this is an interesting take on the progression with a different rhythm and lyrics. Found it a while back and I was always impressed by it.

Diggs, that is some some sharp, slicing riffage . I like the way you keep the rhythm going behind the vocal and take delight in how you switch gears in the solo section, with the change to a walking base and your harp taking a jazzier, slicker attack, all done with great construction and energy. Very good!

Hawkeye: Great "Mellow Down Easy" groove here. And Harmonica Red punches it out clearly, fluently.

Yeah, I agree. And kudos on yours as well Diggs. Tasty!

Heres my friend Brad Hessing's band playing their take on it. I'm always impressed by their fealty to the original artist. And Brad's about the most accomplished blues harp player I know in the area.
