This blows my stuff off the charts. Groove, rhythm, chops, tone, and and a singer with a good voice, minus affectation and straining. Quality playing went to your quality studio time. Please post more.

Thanks to all for taking the time to check it out and for the kind feedback as well! It was a rare opportunity for us, the Sheriffs of Schroedingham (you can check out our music at thesheriffsofschroedingham.bandcamp.com), to spend a good portion of the summer gigging in a beautiful part of Montana...and to be able to make a few videos in a world class studio was the icing on the cake! Keep posted for videos 2 and 3!

Greg---I'd love to connect with you if you're up for it...drop me a line at garren.ross@gmail.com

I really liked that Ross. Very impressed with the way you used the distance from mic in your dynamics, subtle but powerful!

Great work. I cover this same number but stick closer to the original and do it with an all electric band. There was just one point where I thought the harp was being a little overpowered by the guitar, but I loved the overall effect.

That's superb. It's certainly right for Bluesville--which is to say, national airplay. Send Lou Brutus a copy. Your guitarist has a heck of a touch and an amazing sense of where the blues pitches are located. And when you come in, I don't hear a single bad note. Thanks for posting this.

Hey guys, I really appreciate all the positive feedback---means a lot to me that you'd take the time to listen and to respond! I am indeed lucky to play with John...he's a wonderful and consummate musician who challenges me every time we play.
Adam, I'm a longtime fan and the Satan & Adam version of "I've Got a Woman" is a desert island cut! Would you be willing to shoot me Lou Brutus's contact? If so, shoot me an email at garren.ross@gmail.com
Thanks All!

Ross, noticed you're flying through the LOA levels on BH.com Given the quality of your playing here that's not surprising. Hooing you might comment on LOA and possibly mention what you're trying to achieve. Thanks.

Nice to hear such good stuff coming out of the northern rockies!
I play a lot of acoustic backup and so was identifying with what you were doing -- so it stood out to me when you didn't drop out for a bit after your solo and then find a way back in.
I don't mean this as a criticism, just something that I noticed -- maybe you guys talked about that and had it "arranged" that way intentionally? I think it can help a solo to have a pause that sets it apart -- also leaves room for your deserved applause!
Any general comments on this? (not just in the context of Ross' post).

Edited: Related -- I did like how the harp dropped out at the end which matched the beginning.

kudzu---always in pursuit of the wrong notes here!
smokejs---i've known david barrett for a long time...in my mind anything he has put together is a good investment of my time! my main goals are pretty simple; to get better and to put myself in a better position to work as a harp teacher. can't recommend the program high enough---even as a pro player, i have gained a lot from the first few levels!
tetonjohn---excellent points! thanks for raising my awareness to the effects and drama of space or lack there of at different times in an arrangement or performance...good call! to be frank, that's a tune we've played a lot and there isn't any particular arrangement...at least not after the guitar intro! from there on out we just feel out the arrangement each performance. sometimes better than others!

Very sweet!

The only thing you might improve, if that is the video you are going to post for the song, is there is a slight disconnect between the video and the music. You are sitting so stiff backed in the beginning it looks like you are uncomfortable. I don't know if you have more than one camera angle to cut between or if you could crop the image a bit or do some cuts to some images to make you look a little more like you are having fun? (It gets better as it goes on). That's a critique of the video though, and a fairly minor one at that. Musically, it looks like I'm going to have to shell out for the album. :)

You guys seem to move from sound to sound, genre to genre, quite easily. That's a lot of fun. :)

slimharp---what a slide player indeed!

nacoran---good feedback...i wish we had a little more to work with video-wise, but we were lucky to get what we got with just one cameraman...hopefully one day we'll have the means and options! thanks again!
