I have a 20 watt head and I would like to hear your opinions whether you prefer 1x12......2x10's.......1x10 + 1x12. or something else.

I really like a 2x10 for an amp of that wattage, or any wattage.

I have a 2-10 Coyote cab with two Jet Tornados that is by far my favorite for any situation.
A set of Lil Buddies would be hard to beat also.
The only other cabs I currently own are a 1-12, 1-10 and a 1-15.

I tend to like the single speaker set up for lower wattage amps but not always.
As you know there is no rule of thumb in this day and age and all configurations can be good depending on the amps and speakers used.

If your going to use it for live situations then I would recommend a 2x10, 2x12 or 4x10 set up or any mix of two or more. You need to move some air so you can project and/or hear yourself on stage.

If not for live playing, then any size single or Twin 8 set up is good.

If you need any speakers in the U.S. let me know.
At last count I have 18 not being used. Most of them have less than an hour on them, some new unused and some vintage.
I plan on listing them on EBay in the next week or two.

@Harpholic - I'm looking for something like a Weber 8a100 or vintage Jensen p8r for my HG1. Would you happen to have something in your stash?

What's wrong with the speaker in your HG1 ?

The only 8"s I have are two SigA8S Alnico's ribbed cones 15 watts 8 ohms each. Never soldered used to test in a Kay Twin 8 and put back in the box. I changed the Twin 8 to a single 12.

There great speakers, I put a set in my HG DT.

I don't care for the 8A100 because it breaks up too early and a little dark for my taste.

I highly recommend the Jensen RI P8R it's one of my favorite 8" speaker.
Another option is Eminences new 8" hemp cone. Only avail. In one ohm rating, don't remember which?

Harpaholic..... Thank you for a very helpful reply. I really appreciate it and it helped me make up my mind.
As far as speakers that you have, I am in the market for a Jet Tornado (to put in my VHT) and a 2x10 cabinet. Neither, of which I'm sure isn't just lying around.

My Tornadoes are in use. I do have a couple Jet Falcon 10's which I really like. I'm not using them right now, but not sure if I want to sell them.

I just bought a Lil Buddy for my Premier 110, monster speaker for harp, and I tried a 1030 Rev Alltone, and the original P10R that was in it, no comparison!

I might be the only one but I really like a Jensen C10N and it tends to be my speaker of choice for harmonica and guitar.

20W, I'd go with 1 or 2 tens. I've been digging Ragin Cajuns for a while now but it really depends on your amp and your ear.
