Here's a thought. Put an opening in the bottom front so the index finger can get in there and push the harp up, basically popping it right into the hand, reduced fumble factor. The belt loop will work fine for slender folks but my belts tend to disappear. (;>)
For some reason, I feel that some of the adornments that are on your current pouches have religious connotations. Music notes with key designation on the flap would be nicer in my mind. Just thinking out loud here. Look like good products...BN

Hi Chris.

I think they look great and the patterns are spot-on. I think the religious symbols give them an edge, and there are plenty of patters to chose from if you want to stay away from that. Can you make custom patterns?

Is there any material you can make them from that is not animal-based (leather substitute?)

The pouches with the cross' have been the most popular here lately, that's why I chose to put them on there. The others are either animals, or motorcycle related. I have a sample image on my site that shows all the different stamps that I have which I put on here as well.

Yes I just picked up some black vinyl yesterday that I can make some out of.

However the vinyl cant' be stamped like the leather can. I also have some softer thinner leather that I just picked up recently where the inside has a suede texture, those can't be stamped either.

Chris, for what it's worth, I've had poor response to my offering of custom-ordered higher-end single diatonic cases. They are suede-lined and hand-stitched and have various belt loop options.

Of course, I've been pricing them several times over what your non-custom pouches are. That may be my problem. But, it takes me several days to make one of my pouches and I can't justify pricing them to compete with yours.

So I hope you get better response with your "this is what I have available in inventory now" approach with your very affordable price structure.

Good luck in this new endeavor of yours!

Michelle

Well the leatherwork has always just been a hobby and it's something that I enjoy doing. Never really thought of it as a business which is why I make what I like and just put it up for sale when it's done to make a few bucks to buy more leather goods. Jeff who used to have Cumberland Custom Cases was the one that introduced me to and taught me leatherwork and it's been a fun hobby ever since. A lot of the projects I've made were way more time consuming than the pocket pouches, like sheaths for custom knife makers and holsters, but pocket pouches are great to make when I don't have a lot of time to invest into a project and just feel like making something fun.

But don't worry Michelle, leatherwork isn't going to become any kind of major part of my business. I want that hobby to stay fun and relaxing. LOL

Yup. Pretty much the same for me. I won't live or die based on I don't selling a bunch of harmonica cases. I can always make belts, sheaths, holsters, bags, etc. Or just go fishin' :)

Thanks,

Michelle
