took me many years to understand how that was gonna help...
thats what i'm doing now...on my low F country tuned...2nd position major and mixolydian scale, 5th position minor, major, mixolydian, 4th position scales, 3rd position scales, 1st position, 12th position, 6th position...and breaking it down into the chord tones...

i used to think that learning all those scales was gonna confuse me; that i needed to get 2nd, 3rd, 1st sorted...learn to play the top of the harp....before i bothered with those others...
what i found was the contrary. practicing those scales brought much greater clarity and faster progress than ever before. it forced me to learn where the notes are on the harp, and which notes go with which chords...and what those numbers mean on the chart...

If it comes from Larry Carlton, it is true!

The Pentatonic scales give you lots of bang for your buck, especially on the standard Richter harp.
