hi Harmonica world want to verify key of harp used on stripped album version of not fade away think it might be a g harp? any thought cheers

Some people could do this with anything in hand. Personally, I would start with A.

I sometimes use an electronic tuner to find the key of a song. Once I have listened enough to be able to sing the root, I sing the root into the tuner and I have the key.

That will tell me what harps I might be able to successfully use to play along, but it wont tell me what key harp is being used in the song.

We play Not Fade Away in E and I do a 3rd position part in D. It's actually a call and response part. We have it on youtube if you're interested.

Key of E on and A harp.

Brian Jones used two harps, switching from A to D for the IV chord:

The Stripped album is the same as the above video except Mick doesn't play on the IV chord so a D harp isn't needed. The earlier version is better, especially in a one man band context with vocals.

i have never heard of...... the stripped
how is that pronounced?
is that mick jaggers new band?

Stripped as in stripped down. It's a Stones album from '95, back when "unplugged" was all the rage.
