I've been trying to put some special effect coatings on some of my harp covers. My shape of choice has been the Suzuki Promaster, but chrome plated stainless steel is very difficult for a coating to stick to.

Does anyone know what the other major brands use for their harp covers? I'm guessing either stainless, nickel plated stainless, or chrome plated stainless. But the way I've seen some Marine Bands rust, they might not be stainless.

According to Suzuki, ProMaster covers are polished stainless. That is still a difficult material to get anything to stick to.

Here is some advice on coating stainless.
