I recently bought a CD called rare, alternate and neglected recordings of little walter,a 3 CD set with 60 cuts....45 of these are on 3 LPs on a French Canadian label LeRoi du Blues tht I have....there are many cuts that have walter playing brilliantly,as never heard before....there are a few with walter showing his fiery nature arguing with leonard chess and cussing out a drummer for slowing the tempo down....I recommend this CD to LW fans

I love recordings that include banter. I have a Sonny Boy Williamson II CD that includes 2 or 3 takes on his song, "Ninety Nine": "C'mon Sonny, you're blowin' too hard on the intro......"

"Rare, Alternate and Neglected Recordings of Little Walter" is the name of the CD? Sounds good.

Is this the one where Leonard Chess, somewhat tired sounding announces one track like this: "Blue and lonesome by Little Motherfucker Walter"?
I used to have that one on tape but have since lost it, but that "for the record" presentation has a certain panache to it.

I still have all three of those old LP's plus much of the rest of it from various bootleg cassettes I've gotten over the years.

I also have those 3 LPs.....its nice to have it on 3 CD set.....some playing never heard before because was not released....maybe it was not polished enough for chess....35 takes on temperature....LW blew his stack at chess

I just shared this find with my blues collecting neighbor. He already has it and trumped me with his recent purchase of a Sonny Boy Williamson I CD.
