Congrats to Buddy and Cotton! I think Buddy had the best album this year - "Rhythm & Blues". Double album - who does that anymore?

Tx, GH! Lots of cool things to check out now.

But... a lot "names" up there. Actually, they're ALL big names. But that's always my beef with the awards racket.

Also, Buddy Guy (legitimate, original, old school blues legend) winning an award named for B.B. King (heavily overrated, old school blues player famous for his popular chain of blues-themed restaurants).

That's kind of funny.

FJ - I had a similar reaction - seems like a lot of the same names every year, which is sad. But to call BB King overrated? Sacrilege! The guy is legend. I saw him live beginning way back in the 70's - he turned me on to blues. He's one of the most successful artists, one of the most recognizable names- and there's an award named after him. I don't think he is overrated at all.

You're right, Greg; it was a bit of purposeful hyperbole.

B.B. was always better marketed, and much more of a natural showman; he sure as hell can play (no chords, though--B.B. don't know no chords!).

But I still think if he put out an amazing new album and won this next year, they should give him the Buddy Guy Award.
