just listened to your christo redentor---or whatever name it goes by-- not to worried about the name--- charlie Musclewhite is a SUPER REAL AND NICE GUY--met him om the blues cruise-you get a wee bit busy on yours ---but the fact is --YOU CAN--your a great player---i steal a bunch of your licks---when I practice I deliberately play 'too busy'---when I play in front of people I tone way down---my main concern when I play in bars is that 'PEOPLE HAVE A GOOD TIME'--life is tuff enough--so when people go to listen to music--I feel they deserve a break--plus Im a sloppy guitar player--and I have to joke to defuse that fact--got 2 bad arthritic fingers--anyway--thanks so much for your posts --u help me a- a lot--heres yr video again --

Made a ruff cut version to practice this to---will edit later--audio editing or midi editing takes along time --sick of messin with it--anyway-- most of cymbal crashes mean start the tag lick-- listen n youll get it---I just started to learn this --I'll add my harp version later--I'm medium level 3rd pos player---usually play 'nat minor harp' on songs that have a Im and IVm--this song doesn't qualify for that--hence I'll practice my 3rd pos--chords I used---verse Cm or Cm7 to F or F7 I used Fmaj---turn I used [Cm7 to Cm7/Bb 1measure]--- to -------------------------- [Cm7/A to Ab then G 1 measure]--if wrong shoot me or please post correct change--thats what I heard slowed down-- anyway heres for u --for practice--

hakan praise thread?

Count me in, I've learned a lot from Hakan too, and that is some damn fine 3rd position playing!

Hi Snowman!

It was a cool backingtrack to play along with a Bb harp in 3rd pos. Thanks! I also tone it down when I play live with other musicians. But of course I try to add a little spice here and there. My youtube videos are much more experimental and self centered. Which is fun too.
I have seen Charlie a couple of times and I really like his style. Relaxed and laid back. He said in a book: "Take your time, pick your notes. I'd rather underplay than overplay". That's good advice!

Yeah I'll say... Hakan is pretty damn special. One of the best on youtube I know of. Not only because of the quality of his playing, but also the quality of his backing tracks and mixing in general. I did a version of his Fannie Mae and want to do another as I want to make a better backing track and change a couple of things. But damn I just can't get anything like the sound of the backing track Hakan made for his. Absolutely great. I like his Harmonica Hawk Jumps In as well, which is a great solo piece! Top quality stuff on his channel. Just great.

Stellar work here, Hakan. In fact, your version is superior to Musselwhite's, which I thought was one of his worst performances of his early career. I think the way you use octaves and register climbing riffs is ingenious , and that your placement of your lines is intuitively splendid. More!
