Bit of an optical illusion - thought it was huge for a sec. Would love to find one of these old PA systems, though. I'm sure they sound terrible/amazing:

"how do you guys get images to appear?"

I've always assumed it involved some kind of magic, because every time I've tried it, it hasn't worked.....Even though I followed the instruction they have for posting pictures on this forum. So I think it's most logical just to assume that some of our fellow board members are actually wizards, and normal folk, like you and I, shouldn't even bother trying to post pics.

REM, the most common mistake people make trying to post images is they copy the URL for the image from the address bar at the top of their browser. That's actually the link for the page, not the link for the picture on the page. You need to right click on the picture and select 'copy image url' in Chrome (other browsers may word it differently, but basically it's the same thing.) Then insert that in the brackets. If you want to give it a try, try in the forum how to thread and we can help you figure out any problems you have.

Frank, if you deliberately, after posting oodles of images correctly, screwed the one up in your explanation of how to post correctly, well done sir, you are a funny man. If it was an accident, may I quote the great Nelson Muntz, 'Haha.' :)

"code" won't show up - it would only show the red x when posted to the thread,

By the way, here's a couple of girlfriends blowing my big harp:

Yeah, when you try to post code it tries to execute the code instead. Fortunately, there is this handy website:

Handy Site

You just copy and paste your code in the box and it puts code around your code which you can cut and paste back into your post. This clever code makes your code (that's the code you want to show, not the code you got from the handy site) show up as code and not try to execute. Code.

So, you take the code, code it around your code, paste your code in a box, put code around the box, cut and paste it back into the post and you get the code you want, not the code you got, and it will show up as code, but when it does, try not to execute the code.

cool.

got it

I think Iceman agrees with my original assessment of the situation.

Re The Brown Note, I think there was a Mythbusters episode about that. Just looked it up on the ever-reliable Wiki (who needs a memory these days) and it was busted. But I expect you could create some extremely unpleasant sounds with the 'desibel' - e.g. that of an over-loud guitarist, ha ha.

Another tale I've heard is that frequencies around 19-20Hz can induce hallucinations that people perceive as experiencing hauntings. And that tall chimneys in old creepy houses can produce those tones, as in a long organ pipe.

But then I hear a lot of tales.
