Here's an interesting new internet service. http://www.jamkazam.com/ Claims to connect as many as 5 musicians if within 500 miles (800 km) without latency that might cause musical confusion. Rather like recording to your computer but in a live scenario.

This is amazing! Our guitar player is moving out of town and we can still jam. Can't wait till a all the interface issues can be resolved. Till that time it looks like a cheap behringer will do the trick. Look forward to playing with you all in the future from the comfort of my basement.

I am currently using Jamkazam to play with my band during lockdown. It works pretty good if you plug directly into your modem or router and shut off your computer’s WiFi. You can use it on Wifi but there will be more latency issues and glitches.
