Are SP 20s made after 2005 different from SP 20s made before 2005? If so, how are they different, and why was the change made?

2005 was around the time they developed new reed mensurs for better durability and response.

A friend gave me a almost new old stock Sp.20(the ones in the tan plastic cases)a few months ago and although I know you can get a lemon sometimes;but this one is down right sour.I,ve played Sp. 20,s for yrs and have noticed a great improvement since approx. 2005 as Joe says, and even better in the last few yrs.(I/we can only hope it stays that way)

Harpwrench, do you mean measures? I wonder what they were?

Are the pro-2005 SP20s better than to previous ones?

He means mensurs, but I am not sure exactly what he means. Maybe read, "dimensions".
One thing is for sure, he knows exactly what he means. I bet he will explain.
And with regard to the Hohner reed controversy?
