I'm having trouble learning to slide down and make my breath "catch" notes on the way down from a bend. (Also having trouble describing it...Annie Raines discusses it in her lesson starting at about 4:15 and goes til 4:50:

...still can't get the hang of it.)
Any tips? Does it help to have more of a wide mouth around the harp for the bend and purse your lips more as you move out of it?

Also, is this what's used in Jr. Well's version of Good Morning Little School Girl?

Thanks (and promise I won't start filling up the main forum with newbie questions). :)

Taza in this instance you open just a little as you slide down, or from the pucker - relax and the harp will open your ambasure ( sp )slightly. These are very subtle moves and they take some time. As Annie says she doesnt get it every time. For me the main deal is to relax and feel what you are playing. Dont get too stressed about technique. Relax and play, and play, and play. It will come.

Thanks, Slim. Yeah, i can see how stressing about technique definitely takes away from feeling it and allowing these things to happen. I'll take it easy.
