Dragged the looper out for a bit of practice for this Janis Joplin song I've been working on.

My wife said I needed more backing rhythm.

I haven't done a lot with the looper but it seems simple is best...

How fun that sounds.

My only suggestion might be - when you lay down that first looper track, get a bit more on top of it...

What I mean is, it could be a bit sharper as a base line. Perhaps not so many longggg tones and a bit more silence between notes. Give it a bit of excitement, as it loops over and over again.

Otherwise, well done.

Sounds pretty good. Definitely worth persevering with I'd say. You're wife could be right though. Maybe if you were tapping a tambourine or using a shaker it might addd another depth of rhythmic dimension.

Thanks Iceman. Excellent suggestions re the base line and all. I do need to alter things a bit to make it a bit less monotonal. Kingley, I will have to get some shakey things. I was concentrating on remembering the words. It comes down to more practice and coordination I guess. Thanks for stopping by, Gnarly. Unintended consequences eh? :) Thanks all for your comments. I appreciate the feedback.

You are definitely on to something BW - that harp playing you looped is very infectious and works well with that song...You got a winner there buddy :)

Thanks Frank. I had a session with my teacher the other day who was talking about how a groove can be hypnotic if you lock into it sometimes...

Cheers,

I am here at the NAMM show working at the Suzuki booth, and Brandon Bailey is our featured performer. HE USES THE BOSS RC 30, AND HE'S LETTING ME USE IT. Whoops, sorry, I had the caps lock on.
Stop by and say hi if you're at the show.

I can see why you're shouting, Gnarly. I'd be excited too. Brandon is awesome. I will have to drag myself over from Oz to the States one day to see the pros do it first hand.

Thanks Rubes. Us old guys are a bit slow on the uptake. Now I know what to ask for for my next birthday...
