"Hosa MIT435 Impedance Transformer. This adapter is designed to match 200R output impedance to 50K input impedance, "

Do those two impedances look right for plugging(say)a SM 57 into a typical amp jack?
I thought amp imputs were in mega ohms?
Thanks for any insight on this

Yes, it is OK. It is not exact science. Amps are anywhere from 50K to 5Mohm input impedance. Low-Z Mics are anywhere from 10 to 600 ohms.

For the same price (actually $1 less) you COULD buy one from BlowsMeAway Productions. You'd be keeping the $$ in "the community" rather than paying some big-ass online retailer who doesn't know shit about harp.

Sour grapes, sorry. Its past my bedtime and i'm cranky.

Cranky?? Perhaps, but there is really no reason to buy anything that Greg sells from anywhere else. IMHO

I bought the Audix T-50K Inline Impedance Matching Transformer last year. It is a really good product, tucks away just about anywhere, and didn't cost much at all. Highly recommended.

sour grapes? No apology need Greg,we can all have a bad day.
In my 'defence' though i have to say that where i live(newzealand) is a long way from the States and postage especially for small items can be more than the thing itself costs.
Most Harp related things can't be bought locally so in that case i do buy from the US harp community.
As an example in the last few years,2 (very nice)C/M elements, various switchcraft adaptors) and an inline volume control all from you.
In the case of the Hosa impedance transformer above a local store(not badass ;) has it in stock for 32$ (25 US).
It just wouldn't make sense to import one.
I think that probably most listers who don't live in the States would work basically on the same principles as me.
And we are all in envy of how relatively cheap good gear is for american musos'
I hope today has been a better one for you Greg and yep i have apurchase in mind from you in a month or two
Cheers

Well, you're letting me off easy, but honestly I didn't associate your screen name here with your real name so i didn't realize you were in Switzerland. I totally agree with you that for such a small item the postage from the U.S. makes it a non-starter. No offense intended.

Another bad day Greg? Switzerland? I didn't check, but one would really have to try very hard to find a place further from Newzealand than Switzerland :)
