Anybody done any blues harping in these places? I read about a blues jam tomorrow night in Istanbul. Thinking about it. . . Any info , or anybody who's in these places, maybe we can catch a drink. Email me on YouTube. Should be a comma between Dhahran and Venice in the title.

Just the start of our Saudi trip. Spending a couple days here checking things out and binging on Turkish delight/ baklava.

If you´re out taking a stroll there are some music stores at the end of Istiklal (western end) where I found Tombo harmonicas, Ultimos etc, at really interesting prices. (And interesting in the good sense.)

saudi trip, eh? not a place i think of that many would go for a vacation, if that's what you're up to. i was in istanbul summer of oh 12 for a few days. never been before. really enjoyed our stay, in a wonderful old neighborhood hotel, the artifice, in the old town, sultanamet area, a short walk from blue mosque, etc. such wonderful people. my maternal grandmother was from there.
i wasn't looking for any blues, but we did go experience the whirling dervishes, in the un-commercial version. also wonderful.
have a great time, travel safe.
