I recently stumbled onto this blues guitarist, John Campbell. At the height of his career, just finished touring with Buddy Guy in Europe, he died of a heart attack at 41.

I was lucky to see him in Ft. Worth in the 90's. Very scary stage persona along with huge sound. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

Our band opened for JC at the renowned Stone Pony in Asbury Park in 93.We had never heard of him before and didn,t know what to expect.Well he started his show with a really laid back, resonator blues(his apparently was once owned by Lightnin)and then gradually kicked into some mystifying smokin, sizzlin blues, that knocked our socks off.He was a very soft spokin gent,as well as very spiritual, selling crystals along with his cds.His voice was a bit on the rough side but man could he play the guitar. Its a shame he had to leave the world at such a young age.I love his version of Levee, very, very powerful.BTW check out his version of T.Waits Down In The Hole, awesome.
