I've been playing harp for a long time and I have gone through all sorts of amps pedals mics, you name it. I realize that everyone has their own views on what sounds good. All I'm going to say about the EP boost is this. If every blues harmonica player tries this thing the custom harp amp builders are not going to be happy. For a little over $100.00 nearly any rig will sound killer! But hey, don't take my word Go to Guitar center and try one.

I watched a video - sounds cool. I recently started using a MXR micro chorus pedal and it has a similar shimmer but no boost.

I use that and my Lone Wolf V2 delay and that's it.

You got me curious, so I googles around. Its a simple two FET circuit, with a couple switches to affect tone and gain. Plenty of schematics and strip board layouts exist, so it would be dead easy to build one yourself. I've built several similar circuits over the years... These are the best thing for diy musicians because the circuits are simple and the parts are cheap. Cost you maybe $20 to do it, a little more if you make the box look nice...

Has anyone tried the Electro-Harmonix Nano LPB1 linear power booster? it is a quarter of the price in the UK.

What is the difference between the EP booster and the EP booster plus pedals that Kim Wilson mentions on the David Barrett site. I haven't been able to find any info on the (mysterious) plus pedal.
