Hi,
I posted this before with just the link and the thread was deleted. I'm guessing it might have been a spam thing but if it was deleted for another reason please let me know.

Anyway, I saw these and thought they might be of interest to some of the blues enthusiasts. I always find it fascinating to see what life was like during this time in the U.S.

Baker, no, it was just the silly spam filter. It was in the spam folder when I got to it this morning. I wish there was a default where it didn't actually hide them. So far the filter has caught about 50 real messages and only one actual spam message. We can't turn it off. Cool pics.

Taken one by one, each one is very interesting. Taken as a whole, I noticed how profoundly segregated they were. I only saw one picture where I was sure (and two other possibles) where there were pictures of blacks and whites in the same picture, and the one 'for sure' they aren't together, and one of the 'possibles' is right on the cropping line so you can't see all of person. I wouldn't have noticed that looking at any one of them alone.

One thing I've noticed about old photo's is obesity is non existant.

(By the way, I removed the duplicate post after de-spamming it. Generally speaking, the spam thing seems to be trigger by very short posts, particularly if they include a link, or by posts with lots of links.)

Great pix. They seem more freighted with meaning than a lot we see in this digital disposable era.

Thanks for posting this link. I spent a good portion of today visiting my mother in law who is in the hospital reecovring from a heart attack. She was born in 1922 and was a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII. The photos of the aircraft factories provided a bit of a touch point.
