Hey All
I'm looking for classic recordings of solo harp and vocals.
Any recommendations out there?

I have a few recommendations, although they might not be classic recordings

Sonny Terry - Harmonica Vocal Recordings(9 tracks)

Bye Bye Bird - Sonny Boy Williamson

Getting out of Town - Rick Estrin

Forrest City Joe - Train Time & Levee Camp Reminiscence

Lots of stuff by Peg Leg Sam

John Mayall has some stuff, The song Another Man Down comes to mind.

Jack O' Diamonds - Percy Randolph

Lots of good stuff on the Harmonica Rarities double CD

There is some cool stuff on this youtube channel,

Or you could just check out this guy for inspiration and do your own thing.

Grant Dermody does a cool version of Reubens Train here, I think Peg Leg Sam does another version in 5th position.

I don't know if he would be considered classic, but I really like Keith Dunn's work on solo harp and vocals.
I especially like "Strange things are happening" and "Playing the Blues"

There is a great song by Neal Pattman called Prison Blues if you can find it. I believe you can find the solo version of it on his album of the same title, well worth checking out.

the only version on youtube is not just vocal and harp but maybe it will inspire you to check out his work.

I found Sugar Blue's "Another Man Done Gone" on YouTube and added to my earlier post. If you've never heard this particular cut, played on the big low Marine Band, you need to.

Instant replay!
