Ok, anybody have any suggestions for the best blues
Jams in B town? I will be there Sat-Weds of next week.
Was looking around on the net and it seems like a
hoppin' town.

Thanks

Tuesday there is a jam at Corks Cigar Bar-I think part of Dougs band runs it-Doug Deming and the Jeweltones run the Sunday jam there-Ace's has one on Wednesday led by RJ Howson.
If I can think of any more,I will let you know.

When Doug Demming is playing in Bradenton he often has Tony Smith on harp. Tony is a monstrous player, a true tone monster. Definitely go check it out.

Try the 5 o'clock club, I use to go there in the past.
Bradenton always use to have a couple of blues jams that were a lot of fun. I played at the cigar bar once, tons of guitar players. I've met some pretty talented folks there over the years, pretty good vibe. Have fun!

I live in Clearwater which is just across the bay and a little north of Bradenton. There's a little place called Ace's that always has a good line-up of live acts.

Also, if you care to venture a little further north, you can see what's happening in Tampa Bay by visiting the Suncoast Blues Society website http://suncoastblues.org/ or visit them on facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Suncoast-Blues-Society/208523331703?v=wall.

Have fun while you are down here. The weather is supposed to be nice.

Tony plays with Steve Arvey,a great Chicago guitar player. Their band is called The Delta Swamp Rats, with Steve on slide and electric guitar,Tony on harp, and David Lee Maxwell on drums-no bass.
They are as funky and hip as the name sounds.
Madison Slim usually plays with Doug Deming and the Jeweltones when Dennis Gruenling is home in NJ-

Yep, Tony's band is a the Blue Rooster on Saturday night. That is the show to see.

Here he is with Doug Demming & The JewelTones

I believe Tony is playing his Fender Brown Deluxe amp in this video, for those of you to whom such things are important.

Alex, If you are in Bradenton tonight, I mentioned to Tony Smith that you might be at his gig. Go say Hi. Tony is a very cool cat, and one of the best players I know.

My thanks to the Jeweltones and Madison Slim. Had the pleasure of sitting in on three numbers this evening at Corks in Bradenton. What a pleasure. These guys are the real deal. It was a masters class in style and great musicianship.

This, to me, is a great example of what this forum is all about. Brother Alex sends out a message about travel plans to unfamiliar turf and asks about finding a harp friendly environment. Multiple forum members offer good info and suggestions. The trip is made. Brother Alex scores and comes back home to tell everyone about the very positive experience. It’s a simple but great story.
