I've got a 6L6 from a matched pair with a broken plastic center pin; basically broken off. Is this a problem as long as I get the real pins lined up properly? Thanks!

It is not a problem - AS LONG AS YOU GET THE PINS LINED UP. Failure to do so can be Very Bad. Don't ask me how I know. ---------- /Greg

Once you have the tube properly lined up and installed in the socket, you can mark the tube base & socket (nail polish, etc) so that you can visually align them in future. ---------- www.myspace.com/markburness

Thanks. At first I threw the tube in the trash (with just a touch of frustration). Later, I thought, hey, let me look at the base of that tube; maybe there's actually no damage electric-wise. Advice taken -- be SURE pins line up properly!
