A buddy has invited a few of us down for Mardi Gras. I'm sure he will have places for live music and food lined up. But he is not a musician, so he probably won't be tuned into musical instrument stores -- where there may be vintage amps and microphones. Any place I should not miss?

Hi John, I'm from Nola and believe it or not the guitar center over here has a pretty good vintage amp selection, I purchased a 1949 support from there.
You may also want to try jimmies instrument exchange on magazine street.
Oh and there are open harp jams on we'd and thursday nights.
Hope this helps

Thanks, Destin, I figured there must be! I expect we'll be in Baton Rouge Wednesday night.

My band runs the Thursday Night Jam at Mojitos on Frenchman. We start at 9:30ish and normally end about 12:30 or when we pass out, depending on the crowd. I normally have a lot of harp players there, though I have no clue what will happen at MardiGras time.
