Hi Thomas,
I tune the 3rds-13 or so, 5ths-+2,9ths-+4, but the b7 can be variable ..-32 is way too flat so I adjust it to -4,+ 4, but for 3rd position play it is sharper. It's basically just with compromise on the note that needs it.

1991 Fender Bassman Reissue. - "The Beast" - $1000.00
* * * SOLD * * *
It is a 1991 Fender Bassman Reissue modified for harp tone. The two bottom speakers are Eminence Lil Buddys for big thump and kick. The two top speakers are original blue alicos for singing mids. Preamp tubes are two NOS JAN Philips 5751 tubes (in V1 and the phase inverter) and a NOS JAN 5814a Sylvania in V2. The rectifier is a vintage coke-bottle 5V4. Power tubes are new production Tung Sol 6L6.
Bruce Collins at Mission Amps installed a bias pot and upgraded the circuit for Chicago blues harp tone.
I re-lacquered the amp and installed caster wheels. It comes with a padded Tuki cover.
The amp is very loud with wonderful tone. It will crunch when pushed. I bought and modded it when I was playing with a loud blues band and having some trouble being heard. The Bassman cured that: It can muscle aside most guitar heroes. it sounds good at low volumes as well. It is a great amp that is already sorted and ready to gig with your blues band.
It weighs 63 pounds.

Hogany is a proprietary multi-part resin that is designed to mimic the reddish brown grain of real mahogany wood - hence the name - Hogany. It is closer to Corian than to dymondwood in terms of the look and feel. Dymondwood is essentially high end plywood - layers of real wood held together with some sort of high end glue. Corian or other Solid Surface Counter Top materials are acrylic based. Hogany is a mixture of resins - like epoxy. It mills very nicely and as you can see it polishes up to a nice gloss. The "white stains" you see in the picture is a bit of saw dust that I failed clear when I wiped the comb off. When you wet sand anything - Corian, Wood, Hogany, Acrylic - with 1000, 2000, 4000 grit paper, the saw dust is super fine and mixes with the water to form a slurry. The insides of the tines are milled but have not been polished - so they are not ultra-smooth like the rest of the comb that is polished. So the slurry tends to stick to it a little. But it is easily removed by running a cloth with a bit of moisture between the tines. I guess I missed a spot. :)

I guess you answered the part about washing it and everything else. But is it foodsafe? I can't find any info on the material online, and I can with Corian... Bit weary. But I know you wouldn't use it if you weren't sure about this. So can you share your reasons for being sure?

Freak Bassman For Sale
This is a late 1990's 5f6a clone, built in Canada,
all i have done is change tubes and baffle/speakers.
Check it out on ebay. I would put this up against any Large harp amp of similar wattage. I do not gig out. this has been a helluva fun project, but fankly this amp is wasted getting used every now and then and that's all.

But it sure seems to me like James took it to the Store to sell it. Sounds like it wasn't a keeper.Interestingly, the copy mentions 6550 tubes, amp has 6L6's loaded. Sure would like to plug-in to it. But I'm on the wrong Coast

Pre-CBS Fender Blackface Princeton Reverb; $1400 plus shipping, firm. Three-prong cord, small hole (dime-size maybe smaller) in grill cloth. Did not have vintage tubes in it when I got it, so I will provide only current production tubes (unless you know you will put vintage tubes in it and don't even want the current ones). I have switched to playing SP 20's myself now for a few months and I'm only going to sell SP 20's for now on! I will also repair or place anything SP 20 related. Anything I work on will have the reeds shaped, draw plate sanded flat, covers opened and tuned to my blues tuning for $30. Additional work extra.

A friend of mine is parting with four well-known custom harps. It's a damn shame, but times are tough.
Two James Gordon (Filisko specification), one top level Spiers and one Buddha. They are all Golden Melody harps.
Here is his message to me:
"Hey Andy: Thanks for helping me out selling these harps on MBH.
The C harp was the first harp I bought from Jimmy Gordon. It has the full Filisko method overblow/draw treatment. I waited about 6 months to get it in.
For the A harp, I wanted the same treatment and sealed wooden comb. Jimmy said he couldn't get the combs anymore and Richard Sleigh had run out so it would have to be custom made for me and would cost an extra $100. So I waited 6-7 months for this one.
Next came the Bb from Joe Spiers. It's his top level harp. Took 6 months to deliver.
Last came the D Harp from Michelek. Took 14 months of hounding him to get it finally delivered; had the whole 9 yards Buddha harp treatment and was probably one of the last harps he finished before his death."
$300 each. I know for a fact that the Buddha and the Spiers harps are barely touched.
The Jimmy Gordon harps are used, but they are in excellent shape - they were well-built to begin with. If I had the money, I wouldn't hesitate to buy them; they are outstanding harps, not to mention priceless.
You won't come across harps like this again.
