Looking for charismatic and crazy harmonica player who is willing to be filmed… as he or she travels across the USA, stopping at blues bar -blues jams along the way, while having their interactions filmed for a new reality TV show. This person must have the ability to make friends quickly and have the skills to thrive and survive the adventure…

If this was REAL – who would take them up?

Seems like it would involve "gussing" -- so would help to be a big guy (or maybe a cute gal!).

I was thinking it would add some of that reality show drama if the player was just dropping in to bars/clubs to see if they could get on stage (gussing or otherwise).
I guess that's not what you were imagining! ;-)

Now that I'm retired, I try to do that. Except for the filming part. I have no desire to be famous-not that it's ever likely to happen.
I'm gonna try to sit in with the Nighthawks NYE.

Need to be an Amish alligator wrestler who dredges gold to fund the trip. Being married to someone from New Jersey won't hurt, either.

Agreed on Jason.

Here's the thing...would it have to be a person who's relatively unknown to the masses? Or could it be an already famous celebrity? It would seem to me that the former would make for a better challenge, and therefore for better Nielsen ratings. I mean, if you set it up with someone like Steven Tyler or Stevie Wonder, then no band in their right mind would ever have a problem with them sitting in, and the show would just turn into a "look at me play harp with these guys, even though I've been in the charts for years" type of show.

But if you got someone like Ricci, Jay Gaunt or Brandon Bailey, or maybe even Huey Lewis who's kinda faded a bit from the spotlight status he held in the 80's, now that would be a more challenging expose on a harp player sharing the beauty of the instrument with the masses.

At any rate....I'd definitely watch it if it came to fruition!

Maybe get Nicky Sane and follow him around the country as he shows up and tries to lay down his jive at jam sessions all over the world.

Auditions and Casting would cut to the chase of who had the matsaballs to play the lead character - there are millions if not trillions of insanely talented harmonica players who may fit the bill.

LMAO There'd be no shortages in casting, that's for sure! Musicians, in general, are a colorful lot.

Our last cd was titled "Lifestyles of the Poor and Infamous". What does THAT tell ya?

We plan to travel in a few years, like with a travel trailer and our music gear. See some sights, meet some folks. We plan to visit a lot of venues just for the fun of it. Maybe play a flea market, farmers market or wherever here and there. So I wonder what network will fund our trip?

Jbone, I'm sure you and your wife would get a few guest appearances on the harmonica Reality TV show and who knows the audience response may be so overwhelming that you two get a spin off TV series of your own…Rightly titled "Lifestyles of the Poor and Infamous"- and you become wealthy but… end up loosing site of your musical goals, making many enemies, hating yourself for some unknown reason, get an STD, become an Alcoholic and end up in divorce court. The price of FAME ?

Even better, make the harp the only means of income other than a good line.

Drop them down at Key West and have them busk, jam, play and hike across the country. Sleeping on couches, begging for a meal, real country blues hobo style. Give them lifelines, like a top class hotel for a night, a meal, a shower, a change of clothes, a tearful phone call home requesting supplies.

This would work great with a famous person who's also a harp player like Dan Ackroyd, Bruce Willis, Huey Lewis, Robin Williams, Steve Tyler. It would give a huge attraction to the idea and guarantee viewers.
