I played Seydel 1847 harmonica in G through a microphone with JT30 shell and a vintage Shure white label controlled magnetic element, 99A86 (white label CM) that was manufactured 1980. It sounds great! The element was bought at Greg Heumann's superb harmonica site www.BlowsMeAway.com.
The microphone was connected into vacuum tube preamplifier BEHRINGER Tube Ultragain MIC200 connected into DIGITECH Vocal 300 multieffects pedal connected into BOSS BR-1200CD digital recording equipment. Bass & drums tracks were created in BOSS BR-1200CD. No guitar amp was used. Reverb effects was used (no delay). I played keyboards.
I alway like your videos. They are often a bit different than most we see here which is good!
I have a question about your BEHRINGER Tube Ultragain MIC200. I think I would like to have a DI box so that I can play direct to a PA. Would you recommend this unit for that purpose?
I sometime sit in with local bands and this might be an easy compromise instead of bringing an amp.
Long time ago I tried a SM57 mic connected to BEHRINGER Tube Ultragain MIC200 through a PA and what I remeber it sounded good.
A couple of weeks ago I also tried Harp Attack through a PA with a vintage mic and that sounded very, very good! It also sounded good when I used the Harp Attack through a boring Fender Blues Junior. I am now a proud owner of a Harp Attack.
The Harp Attack was a little too strong when I did this video and plugged it directly to my recording equipment. It was easier for me to find the sound I wanted with the BEHRINGER.
