I know that this amp is not a first choice for many of you. But I liked a lot (I most say, this is the only tube amp that I ever played). In the video I was testing the "Chicago settings" rather than the "sweet settings". If I put the volume on 10/10, the tone in 8/10 and lower the gain around 5/10 the sound is really sweet.
I know that my tone is not the best, but I think that this amp is one more option among the other.
That sounds pretty good to me. I also have a Bugera V5, and, surprisingly, a Sonotone Voice of Music mic (not sure what element), and your setup worked pretty well for me, too. When I use my Astatic 200 with a ceramic element, the amp does better with high gain, no tone or reverb (feedback issues) and moderate volume. By the way, I love that little Sonotone mic - if nothing else, it has really taught me what a cup on a mic can sound like (because it is so easy to cup tightly).
When you say "no tone" you men the tone in 1/10 or 10/10. I ask because I know that is recomended to put down the tone control on any amp, but when I do that in this amp, the sound loses something, is not that "live" anymore. I usualy put the tone in 8/10 just for the feedback.
Your amp is stock, or do you upgade anything?

I folow your advice and buy a Jan phillips 5751 (not in the video), and that make the sound much better.
I got a nice story to tell regarding that tube. Is kind of long, so soon I am going to make a post. Short version: One of the best guitar player in my country ask me if I wana make a band whit him!.
rongonzab, My Bugera is stock - no changes or upgrades. When I say no tone I mean 1/10 or maybe 2. This is what I do with the Astatic 200 mic (plus high gain and medium volume), as I seem to get feedback if either the tone or reverb is set much higher than 1 or 2. With the Sonotone I have used settings similar to yours.

I am considering one of these amps as I really like the warm tone. I would however for my style of playing want a cleaner clear sound. I would be using at different times either an Audix Fireball or a Shure Vocal Mic. I want it for playing eg (at the extreme) fast Irish fiddle tunes & some vocals. Cannot get much info on them here in Brisbane - Oz although there is a dealer who will bring one in on a firm order. I would not be gigging with it only using it for recording. ---------- HARPOLDIEāS YOUTUBE
